How to Add an Announcement Banner to Your Website

In this tutorial, we’ll show you how to make a website with an announcement banner.  In this example, we’ll add a Hello Bar to a website, using the IconoSites web site builder where anyone can build a business website in minutes.

Written Tutorial

1.  To start, please sign up a free Hello Bar account here.

2.  After signing up, login to your Hello Bar account and provide appropriate settings and other details. Please see sample screenshot below.

3.  Next copy the code by clicking the Copy Code button. You should see something like the image below.

4.  Next login to your Iconosites account, then click the Header & Footer button, found at the left side of the dashboard. Then scroll down a little bit to find the Site Wide Scripts section. Paste the code into the BODY section. Please refer to the screenshot below.

5.  Click the SAVE button to finish. Then check your website and see the Hello Bar appears at the top.

    I´ve heard that Hello Bars really increase the times visitors click on a link, and it just makes the website more dinamic and atractive. And when thinking to build a business website thats something to consider, what makes it more appealing to me is the chance to feed the tweeter through the Hello Bar.

      Hi Pat, thanks for your comment.  That’s definitely true, you can use it to post your twitter feed to your website and that’s actually a great idea.  But for any business, the fact that you can create a website and add tools like the Hello Bar so easily is an extremely big help for any entrepreneur…

    Very good tutorial, I have been reading the other posts and I must say I am convinced, I will give it a try and let you all know how my website turns out, I want to build a business website and I think the annoucement banner will come in handy every time, most website builders I have consulted agree that Iconsites is great tool.
